The Bureau Escape Games

Apparently the world can be divided up into those that know what an Escape Room is and those that don't. I was firmly in the latter camp until some time in 2017. Alexis eventually worked with me at Gobee Group. But, we actually first met at CES in 2012 while I was moonlighting as a boom operator and production assistant for the Engadget Show. Alexis was a writer for Engadget covering CES. Alexis's passion has always been interactive games. After his time at Gobee, he started Dangerously Creative, an interactive game design consultancy. As someone that had started and ran a successful consultancy for many years I offered my advice and counsel during the process. But I challenged Alexis to think bigger and The Bureau Escape Games is the product of that challenge.

I invested in The Bureau from the start. But, I've also served as an advisor from start up to operations and now as The Bureau looks to scale beyond Orlando. Starting a business is difficult under the best of circumstances, but The Bureau launched only four weeks prior to the start of Covid lockdowns. As I would tell Alexis, a business isn't defined by its success when there are tailwinds, but when they've faced headwinds and still managed to move forward. Fast forward two years and the Bureau is doing amazing! Alexis and team have crafted a world class immersive experience.

My family's favorite game is Puppet Heist. We played three of the games during a trip to Universal Studios in September 2021.

I had a chance to drop-in during the final stages of building the UFO game. I highly recommend this game!
